The IQ-S was specifically developed for the treatment of small and sensitive components. It combines uniform heating, a controlled process atmosphere and a rapid, automated quenching mechanism in one compact, user-friendly system.
Overview Possible configurations
Max temp: 1100 °C or 1200 °C
Furnace Ø: 110 mm
Heated length(s): 500 mm
Number of heated zones: 1 and 3 zones
OPERATING PRINCIPLE
An automated transfer system moves the sample precisely between the heating and cooling zones. This enables an extremely rapid transition from the process temperature to the quenching stage without removing the component and while continuously maintaining a controlled process atmosphere, such as vaccum, inert gas or reactive gas.
This significantly improves process reliability and component quality.
Possible sample-holder materials include:
- Graphite
- Inconel
- APM
KEY BENEFITS
- Combines multiple process steps in a single system
- Fast quenching cycles
- High reproducibility through automation
- Suitable for different process-gas atmospheres, including reactive gases
- Controlled process atmosphere maintained in both zones
PROCESS SEQUENCE
- Evacuation and subsequent purging of the process chamber
- Heating with a controlled temperature ramp
- Optional holding at the target temperature
- Quenching by transferring the sample between zones
- Purging of the process chamber
