IQ-O (Open) Quartz Tube Quench System

The IQ-O is a simple and robust quenching system for heat treatment under a controlled atmosphere. The system is based on a quartz glass tube with a water-cooled section and enables flexible, manual quenching processes, even while the system is in operation.

OPERATING PRINCIPLE

The sample is located inside a quartz glass tube divided into a heated zone and a cooled section.

The sample is moved manually using a mechanical guide through the open gas outlet. This allows the sample to be moved along the axis of the quartz glass tube between the heating and cooling zones and positioned precisely.

This arrangement enables the sample to be moved repeatedly between both zones. Multiple heating and quenching cycles can therefore be carried out under defined conditions without removing the sample from the system.
