 | | Top hat furnace for mould firing
- Designed as part of an ongoing project to increase the use of aluminium alloy castings by the aerospace industry
- Chamber measurements : 1000mm x 1000mm x 1000mm
- Maximum charge weight : 450kg
- As the furnace is used for both lost wax and plaster moulds, the equipment has to accommodate a particularly wide range of operating temperatures : plaster block moulds (which can weigh up to 200kg) are typically dried at 270°C for up to 70 hours before being filled
- Ceramic shell moulds are also processed at low temperatures for burn off residual wax - they are then sintered in the furnace at 1050°C.
- Maximum power rating ???kW
